Lindsay Pickral

A professional calling, driven by personal experience

Attorney Lindsay Pickral’s practice focuses on estate planning, special needs and long-term care planning, guardianship and conservatorship, and estate and trust and administration. She is also a certified guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults.

Lindsay understands that her practice occurs at a unique crossroads, where legal strategy intersects with complex family dynamics and emotions, and she unfailingly offers her clients an empathetic and compassionate ear alongside her keen legal eye.

Untimely deaths in Lindsay’s close family, especially the 2014 death of her special-needs daughter, drive Lindsay’s specific passion for working with special-needs families and planning for uncertain futures. When day-to-day challenges and complex healthcare conditions make it impossible to anticipate what’s ahead, Lindsay offers thoughtful guidance and frequently reminds her clients, “We plan for the worst, and then we hope and pray for the best.”

A frequent speaker on topics affecting special-needs families, Lindsay is also an adjunct professor at the University of Richmond Law School, teaching Aging and Disability Law. A member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Lindsay is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served as president of the McNeill Law Society and as annual survey editor of the Law Review. She is also an alumna of the University of Virginia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in government and edited the sports page of The Cavalier Daily. Prior to attending law school, Lindsay served as district representative for an area member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
